When David and Susan married on December 7, 2024, they invited loved ones to help build something lasting. In lieu of wedding gifts, they established the Smith & Moore Uplift Scholarship Fund.
As first-generation college students, they know how education can open doors. Their shared experience shaped a commitment to help other students overcome financial barriers and pursue their academic dreams.
David Rupert Smith
David co-founded the fund with a belief in the power of education to create opportunity. His shared vision with Susan is to help students pursue their academic dreams and build a lasting legacy of uplift.
Susan Moore-Fontenot
Susan is a retired educator and higher education consultant, as well as a community leader and mentor. Her lifelong commitment to student success continues through the fund she co-founded with David.
Together, they are investing in future educators, innovators, and leaders.
